Recovery paths

The recovery process, and maintaining sobriety, are not “one size fits all” propositions; indeed, the best approach or method can vary widely depending on the individual and their circumstances. Recovery paths can include:

  • Individual work with a therapist;
  • Individual work with a licensed alcohol and drug counselor (LADC);
  • Participation in a peer support group like Alcoholics Anonymous, SMART Recovery, or Recovery Dharma;
  • Individual work with a sponsor or other mentor;
  • Inpatient treatment at a rehabilitation center or similar facility;
  • Outpatient treatment (IOP);
  • Individual or group meditation/mindfulness practice; or
  • A combination of two or more of the above.

If you would like to discuss any of the above options or explore others, please contact MAP at (207) 266-5951.
